Privacy Policy

The short version

Voltpony collects nothing about you. There is no Voltpony account, no Voltpony server and no analytics inside the app. Your Ford credentials, your vehicle data and your location never reach any system operated by me, because no such system exists.

What the app stores, and where

All of this stays on your device:

• Ford access credentials. Held in the iOS Keychain and marked device-only, which deliberately excludes them from iCloud and iTunes backups. Signing out deletes them.
• Vehicle data — charge level, range, lock state, last known location, VIN. Cached so the app and its widget can draw instantly. Never transmitted anywhere except back to Ford.
• Your preferences — vehicle name, your first name if you enter one, paint colour, theme, avatar photo, units. The avatar photo is stored in the app's own container so the widget can use it.

Deleting the app removes its cached data and preferences. Because Keychain items can outlive an app on iOS, use Sign outinside the app before deleting it if you want the credentials gone immediately.

Who your data is shared with

Nobody. The app communicates with Ford's own servicesin order to read your vehicle's status and send commands to it. That communication is between your device and Ford, and is governed by Ford's privacy policy and terms. There is no intermediary.

The app contains no advertising SDKs, no analytics SDKs, no crash reporting services and no third-party dependencies of any kind.

Sign-in

You sign in on Ford's own web page, presented in a system-provided browser view. The app never sees or stores your Ford password. The session is ephemeral, so it does not inherit or leave cookies in your Safari browsing session.

Optional map features

Finding chargers or dealers uses Apple MapKit and, if you grant it, your device location. Location permission is optional and only requested when you use those features; the app works without it. Charging station data comes from a public community dataset. No identifying information about you is sent with these lookups.

This website

voltpony.app uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookieless and does not fingerprint visitors or track them across sites. It reports aggregate page views and referrers only. The site sets no advertising or tracking cookies.

Tips

The optional tip link goes to Ko-fi, who handle the payment entirely on their own site under their own privacy policy. No payment details reach voltpony.app, and Ko-fi's widget script is deliberately not embedded here — it's a plain link, so nothing from Ko-fi loads or sets cookies unless you choose to follow it. Because there is no Voltpony account, a tip cannot be connected to your app usage by anyone, including me.

Children

Voltpony is not directed at children under 13 and collects no data from anyone.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes will be noted in the app's release notes.
